What is an Information Delivery Plan?

An Information Delivery Plan (IDP) defines what information will be delivered, by whom, when and in what format across a project. Under ISO 19650, the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) aggregates individual Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs) from each delivery team. The IDP responds to the appointing party's Exchange Information Requirements and forms a core part of the BIM Execution Plan.

Most organisations manage IDPs in Excel spreadsheets that require constant manual updates, are prone to errors and become outdated within days. Morta replaces this with a live, connected tracker — synced to your CDE for automatic status updates, with TIDPs as filtered views that aggregate into the MIDP automatically. Connected to your information standards and responsibility matrix for a complete picture of delivery performance.

Frequently asked questions.

Common questions about this template and how it works.

How does CDE sync work?

Morta connects to your CDE (Asite, Viewpoint, ACC, ProjectWise, Aconex, SharePoint, Procore, Dalux) and automatically updates deliverable status as information is submitted. No manual data entry required.

How is the MIDP aggregated from TIDPs?

TIDPs are created as filtered views on the same IDP tracker. Any additions or edits at the TIDP level are automatically reflected and aggregated in the MIDP — no copy-paste or manual consolidation.

How do you prevent data entry errors?

Morta uses predefined picklists for project codes, originator codes, discipline codes, spatial and functional breakdowns. This eliminates typos and ensures consistency.

Can Morta import from Excel?

Yes. Import existing IDPs directly from Excel spreadsheets. Morta maps your columns and validates data on import.

Can Morta export to Word and Excel?

Yes. Morta supports exports to both Excel and Word formats. The export matches your data in Morta, so it's always current.
