SES Engineering Services

SES Engineering Services is a Wates Group building-services business that designs, manufactures and installs building services and infrastructure. Its work with Morta connects information delivery planning with the practical standards, training and support needed to use the platform across projects.

Developing a shared approach

SES first encountered Morta through Ministry of Justice schemes alongside Wates. Over the roughly two-year period described in its community presentation published on 2 December 2025, the relationship developed into wider design-management work and a group enterprise contract. By the session, SES had built shared governance processes around deployment and was preparing a mandatory information delivery planning rollout. Its next programme would extend digitisation into further business functions.

The team

The presentation brought together SES's technology, development and standards work. The contributors explained complementary responsibilities within the team, from selecting and building tools to helping projects use them.

  • James Bishop CMgr is National Digital Technology Manager at SES. Introduced in the presentation as Digital Technology Manager, he explained the business strategy, participation from operational functions and the linked data behind the governance dashboard.
  • Amrik Aujla, introduced as Assistant Digital Technologist, explained lessons in governance and onboarding, and the cultural conditions needed for lasting adoption.
  • Howa ‘Eve’ Bader, introduced as National Digital Standards Lead, demonstrated request handling, training and the SES rollout tracker.
  • Javier Lopez, introduced as National Digital Development Lead, demonstrated group reporting and outlined the planned programme across business functions.

Delivering digital from a building services lens

The SES team explains how it paired development with standards and used Morta to manage the platform's own rollout. Follow the request forms, reporting and support processes, then explore the team's approach to involving business functions and maintaining a clear role for existing enterprise systems.

Four columns for information delivery planning, the Wates Group governance hub, the SES rollout tracker and an employee engagement portal.
The presentation brought together four areas of work. Information planning and governance were running; the employee portal was still being developed.
