Matthew Scard was Digital Lead in the Ministry of Justice’s Property Directorate Technical Services team at the Smart Prison Estate presentation in November 2023. He described leading digital construction projects and supporting the digital strategy in which those projects sat.
Matthew introduced the estate’s range of stakeholders, systems and information sources. He explained why the team wanted to start from its data, connect existing tools and involve stakeholders in building the databases. His overview distinguished the technical standards and information management workstreams from an earlier-stage programmes and performance initiative.
He closed with plans to develop the information management platform, explore activities shared between the workstreams and apply learning from derogations to other processes. His contribution framed the team’s direction alongside the specialist work presented by Jeannine Gavaghan, Patrick Kennedy and Mace Consult’s Alessandro Napoli.
