In March 2024, Mariano Amoedo was a Digital Consultant in Mott MacDonald's information management team and Project CDE Optimisation Lead. His background included digital delivery on major infrastructure projects such as High Speed 2, with a focus on business intelligence development and common data environment (CDE) systems.
In Morta's March 2024 community session, Mariano presented an information delivery planning implementation for a North American subway extension project. He showed how document numbers connected planned deliverables with SharePoint files and Aconex status, alongside Power BI reporting.
He described weekly training, responses to project-team feedback and the use of activity data to assess adoption beyond registration and logins. He also explained the team's decision to automate status updates from Aconex while retaining design-team review and manual submission to document control. He used a changed deliverable as an example of how the team investigated a record's history.
We went beyond seeing who was registering and logging into Morta. We actually carefully looked at how Morta was being used, focusing on the practical impact of the tool on our daily work.
