Glenn McCaffrey

Glenn McCaffrey is Digital Construction Director at McLaughlin & Harvey. He joined the company in 2019 following a career in architecture. At MortaTurns6, in a session published in December 2024, he described moving from a preconstruction remit to reporting directly to the board as information management became a business-wide concern.

His account focused on treating information as an asset across geometry, data and documents. He explained the team’s approach to specifying requirements, delivering information, checking it and retaining evidence of decisions. People, processes and agreed standards guided the choice of supporting technology.

Glenn also described building in-house capability with consultancy support, developing common information-management templates and working with operations on delivery processes. His discussion of supply-chain engagement brought appointment requirements together with training and practical support. He acknowledged continuing difficulties with buy-in and the work still needed to embed the approach.
