Tom Crossley was confirmed as Data & Automation Lead at Kier Construction in August 2026. He previously appeared in Morta's Kier content as Senior Digital Construction Manager for Major Projects and, later, as Kier's Automation Lead, reflecting a remit that moved from project delivery into data and automation across the construction business.
His Morta presentations trace that work from a manual, Excel-based information delivery planning process to a controlled Morta template linked with Viewpoint and Power BI. Tom has explained how consistent schemas, validation, central template control, user testing and an agreed route for project variation allow one approach to serve different teams and client requirements. He also showed automated reporting for planned and delivered information, requests for information and project performance. His work centres on making project data reliable enough to use at project and business level while keeping the systems practical for the teams who run them.
What we're trying to do is have a tool that's useful for people at a project level, but then also have a tool that's useful for people at a business level. So we can see those cross comparisons and we can gather insights from it.
