Ioan Evans was introduced as Design BIM Lead for Arup Mott MacDonald JV on Lower Thames Crossing and identified himself as working for Arup. In the community session, he described his work on major UK transport projects and the practical requirements of managing design information across project teams.
His contribution explained how the designer and contractor joint ventures agreed consistent user conventions and connected their information delivery plans to ProjectWise and Asite. He described a common process for creating deliverables, allocating document codes and showing processing states, with administration available when something went wrong.
Ioan also explained the project component catalogue, linking common component definitions to asset, carbon and classification requirements. He described how that information drove design-software configuration and IFC delivery. His account connected these technical foundations to everyday usability, permissions and the decision about whether a new use belonged in Morta.
