From trials to supported project workflows

SRM began exploring Morta in October 2023 with five licences. Project hubs followed in October 2024, with information delivery planning introduced on a first project that December. A second focus group began developing training and supporting material in January 2025, before the master template rollout in July. At Morta Community Day 2025, the team described a review process for taking useful project ideas into business use and further plans to connect data across organisations and existing platforms.

The team

The 2025 presentation connected SRM's national approach to development with practical work on a major project. Mark Harrison explained the rollout decisions; Josh Barnsley showed how the resulting workflows operated.

Mark Harrison was introduced as Area Digital Construction Manager and described a national remit within the digital construction team. He presented the development gates, shared data structure, governance and support behind the rollout.

Josh Barnsley was introduced as Senior Digital Construction Manager, leading a digital construction team on a large Somerset project. His demonstrations covered delivery planning, model QA records, sustainability submissions and monthly reporting.
