Ryder Architecture is an architectural practice founded in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1953, with teams in the UK and internationally. Its work spans architecture, interiors, landscape and place. Its work with Morta explored how to connect building regulations requirements, design responsibilities and supporting evidence.
Developing a consistent evidence process
By November 2023, Ryder was working with Morta on a draft compliance tracker based on its existing Excel approach. The work brought responsibility and evidence into a common structure that could connect with different project CDEs. Deployment on high-rise residential schemes was being considered, with automated document matching through classification identified as a next development.
The team
Ryder's contribution focused on the practical work of gathering design evidence and preparing it for review. The November 2023 presentation connected the principal designer's responsibilities with the information needed from the wider design team.
