Project Four Safety
Project Four Building Safety Experts Ltd., known as Project Four, is a specialist safety consultancy. It supports developers, contractors, designers and building owners with advice across the building lifecycle, including CDM and building safety. Its work with Morta addresses a practical part of that responsibility: organising the evidence that a principal designer needs to review.
Working with Morta
Project Four developed its approach from a spreadsheet tracker into a connected evidence and reporting process. Its building safety community presentation showed how the approach had evolved again, separating designers’ input in the common data environment from the principal designer’s review in Morta. PDF evidence reports and Power BI dashboards provided different ways to communicate the work. Further uses in construction-phase tracking, pre-construction information and safety case reports were still being explored at the session.
The team
Allan Binns presented the work as Project Four’s National Director. He explained the successive versions of the process, showed the revised arrangement in a test hub and shared what had changed when the team put its initial ideas into practice.

Building safety evidence that can be reviewed
Connecting to current design files still left a timing problem when drawings changed during a plan check. Project Four’s story explains how designers identified evidence in CDE folders, Morta organised it by regulation part, and the principal designer recorded the review separately. It includes the test-hub walkthrough and the areas Allan wanted to develop next.
